Frontierbeat (“we,” “us”) is an independent digital publication. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to frontierbeat.com and its subpages.
What we collect
- Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand traffic — pages viewed, approximate location, device, and referral source. This is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

- Newsletter: If you subscribe, we store the email address you provide and basic engagement (opens/clicks). We do not sell or share it.
- Comments: Where comments are enabled, we store the name/handle and content you submit, plus your IP address to fight spam.
- Tips: Messages sent to our newsroom or tips line are stored only as long as needed to evaluate and report a story. See our tips line for how we protect sources.
Who we share data with
- Google (Google Analytics) — aggregated traffic measurement.
- Cloudflare — our DNS and CDN, which processes request metadata (IP, headers) to serve and secure the site.
- Our newsletter provider — only your email, for delivery.
We do not sell personal data. We disclose it only to comply with lawful requests or to protect the site and our readers.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and object to or restrict processing. To exercise any of these, email frontierbeat@protonmail.com. We respond within 30 days.
Data retention
We keep analytics data according to Google’s retention settings (typically 14 months), newsletter data until you unsubscribe, and comment data until the comment is removed. Tips are deleted once a story is published or the lead is closed, unless you ask us to keep them.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be noted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
