Anthropic updated Claude with nine new connectors targeting creative professionals, adding integrations for Ableton, Adobe, Affinity, Autodesk Fusion, Blender, Resolume Arena and Wire, SketchUp, and Splice MacRumors reports. Connectors are tools that Claude can use to access other platforms and help with completing tasks.
The move positions Claude as a direct competitor to OpenAI’s Codex, which now has over 4 million developers using it Reuters reports. Adobe, which generates nearly $24 billion in annual revenue from its dominant creative tools market, simultaneously launched Firefly AI Assistant in public beta The Next Web reports.
“Today, with a coalition of partners including Blender, Autodesk, Adobe, Ableton, and Splice, we’re releasing a set of connectors—tools that let Claude work alongside the software creative professionals rely on, so creatives can extend their reach,” Anthropic announced.
Creative Tool Integration Race
The nine new connectors enable Claude to access apps, retrieve data, and take actions within connected services The Verge reports. The Adobe for creativity connector can draw from Creative Cloud apps like Photoshop, Premiere, and Express to “bring images, videos, and designs to life” in Claude.
The Blender connector uses the 3D modeling app’s Python API to give Claude a natural-language interface The Verge reports. The Ableton connector allows Claude to answer questions by sourcing information directly from the music software’s official documentation.
“The Blender developers have created an MCP connector, which is now officially available for Claude. And using Blender’s Python API, the connector lets Claude add new tools directly to Blender’s interface,” 9to5Mac reports.
Adobe’s Agentic AI Push
Adobe launched Firefly AI Assistant in public beta alongside the Claude integration PetaPixel reports. The assistant can orchestrate workflows across Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom, InDesign, Express, and Firefly.
“We have the opportunity with the Firefly AI assistant and with agentic experiences to remove some of the friction in learning this large catalog of tools we have and bring all of that value to our customers at their fingertips,” Adobe said.
The Adobe for creativity connector is available globally for Claude users with an Adobe account, while Firefly AI Assistant is rolling out in public beta to Creative Cloud Pro and eligible Firefly subscribers PetaPixel reports.
Claude’s connectors are available now for users with accounts for the respective creative tools.
